The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Andrew Solomon Napuap, has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Vanuatu. MOIA AGENCIES PARTICIPATE IN LEGISLATIVE REFRESHER TRAINING
On March 19, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MoIA), in collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General, successfully conducted a Legislative Refresher Training for all MoIA agencies. The training aimed to strengthen participants' knowledge and skills in developing a COM paper, writing a Policy Paper, and drafting instructions related to legislation in alignment with each agency’s responsibilities.

Port Vila, Vanuatu – February 28, 2025 – The Port Vila City Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Correctional Service under the Vanuatu Ministry of Justice and Community Services to support both community restoration and inmate rehabilitation.
Through this partnership, inmates will work alongside the council to clean and beautify public parks and green spaces across Port Vila, contributing to the city's recovery following the devastating earthquake on December 17, 2024.

On February 20th, 2025, the Department of Local Authorities acquired 15 quad bikes in total, which will assist 15 Area Councils in the provinces of Penama and Torba.
MJ's Moto company supplied these quad bikes, which are highly recommended for use on rural routes.
Ten Area Councils in Penama province will use ten of these quad bikes, while five more will be used by the five Area Councils in Torba province.

Department of Urban Affairs and Planning (DUAP) under MOIA was proud to present the Lakatoro Concept Plan and Malekula Island Resilient Investment and Development Opportunities to the Malampa Provincial Council.
These two important documents have outlined plans that will upgrade Lakatoro and Malekula island as a whole. With technical assistance from the South Pacific Commission (SPC) and the World Bank Group, the Lakatoro Plan was created after extensive provincial and national consultation.

The Vanuatu Electoral Office (VEO) joined the Melanesian Electoral Management Bodies of Solomon Islands, Bougainville, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea for the BRIDGE Workshop, this week. With assistance from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and in cooperation with the UNDP Pacific Office, the Pacific Islands, Australia, and New Zealand Electoral Administrators (PIANZEA) Network organized the BRIDGE workshop in Vanuatu.

Department Of Vanuatu Immigration and Passport Services recorded a revenue collection of 1 billion this month, which surpassed its normal target every year.
For the past years immigration only reach 500 million to 600 million but this year with the Automated visa system and the passport system Immigration manage to reach over 1 billion. These includes fees, charges, fines and license purchase through the Department of Vanuatu Immigration and Passport Services.
