These 11 motorbikes will be allocated to the following 11 area councils:

  • Central Pentecost 1 AC
  • Southeast Ambrym AC
  • Northeast Malekula AC
  • South Santo 1 AC
  • Paama AC
  • South Pentecost AC

The Minister of Climate Change, Hon. Ralph Regenvanu, stated that these motorbikes will provide significant assistance to communities during disasters.

Additionally, they will support projects under the Vanuatu Community-based Climate Resilience Project (VCCRP), which is currently being implemented in various communities across the country.

Hon. Andrew Napuat, Minister of Internal Affairs, expressed his appreciation for the support from MCC and other sponsors who have contributed to providing these motorbikes, ensuring that government services reach communities through area administrators in different area councils across the provinces.

Hon. Napuat emphasized that delivering government services to communities is not solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs but requires cooperation, collaboration, and support from all government agencies to ensure that services reach the community level.
